"Simply Japanese" - Beaulieu Motor Museum - Joint southern area meet

Simply Japanese - 3 August 2014

-

Joint South West / South Central / South East event!

Following the success of the Haynes Motor Museum meet that I managed to organise in a week and last year's Beaulieu meet, Steve (z32bolt), Howard (bigh), Terry and myself are organising what could be one of the biggest southern meets the club has seen for many years for the summer of this year! This is aimed at the South West, South Central and South East regions, but of course, this is open to EVERYONE and we'd love to see as many attend as possible!

Beaulieu Motor Museum is holding its yearly 'Simply Japanese' meet again this year - Steve did do something similar last year and got a good number there, some 30 cars - due to the anniversaries of the Z32 (25 years) and the S30 (45 years) we want to make this a joint region and multi club event and get the numbers up further!

Other than than Japfest at CC, we really don't have much going on south of the M4 in terms of large meets. This will be a great event if you're visiting solo, with another half, or with family!

We will be attending this show as 300zx.co.uk, but also hope to have support, as we often do, from the UK Zclub, 350 and 370 owners club. I have spoken with the event organiser and have arranged that we will have our own 'Z' stand, in addition, Gary is also supplying us with a new club banner. I am also proposing that we try and get some sort of blurb into one of the classic car magazines too!

There is a cost, but it's very small. £10 per person, or £5 for children. TBH, that's the same price as a pub meal!

Beaulieu is a great venue, the area around it is stunning, being in the New Forest, the museum itself is fantastic and there's plenty to do there for everyone - in essence, a great day out for all. I understand you get access to the Abbey, the museum and there are events for kids to do, birds of prey on display etc. If possible, later on down the line, I may try to get a pro-photographer along (my neighbour in actual fact) for those of you before the show who want to get some really good hi-res images of your cars - there may be a small cost to this also.

Some photos of the Haynes meet.

Here's a snapshop of the site with attractions for those that have never been before - it's vast!

We aim to have various convoys to meet up at a pre-determined venue before a cruise to the event, I will post this live on other Z forums over the coming months.

Hope to see you there! Please add your names to the local events section which myself, Steve, Terry and Howard will be managing and eventually they'll find their way onto here!

Jimmer and I will of course be coming down from the South West area, along with Steve and Howard's region and also Terry's region.

We'd love to build this event to over 40 cars as there were 30 last year! The aim would be to hit 45, the milestone of the 240z! It would be epic to make it the biggest turnout of any of the other clubs - this thread is up early to give members enough notice! :)

i'll put myself down as a maybe, depending where convoys etc are meeting, it's close to a 3 hour drive for me though

Sorry to jump on this late, but I should be there in the Z, I look forward to seeing you all there!

Hi,I'm new to this form, and have no Idear if I'm in the right place.

I was just wondering if there was any space left for Beaulieu? I have a z31 and can't find any one who is going?

Thanks.

I'm your Regional events organiser, come along mate be great to have a z31 present. There is another guy with a 300zx in ringwood, possibly two if the other guy still has it. My in laws live up on eastfield lane so my zed is regularly sat up there and around ringwood.

Have a great day guys, but I won't be making it.

Totally lost my Z mojo so maybe getting out completely.

Hope the weather holds, sounds like a great gathering.

Thats a real shame, maybe a meet like this is what you need to regain your mojo?

Got a mate with a 350z who wants to tag along, is that ok?

Shouldn't be. I'll arrange a plot for 50 vehicles. As much as I'd love us to keep getting more, I hope loads don't suddenly all turn up as we'll have nowhere to park everyone! haha

Appreciate the encouragement, but wanted my Z to take part!

There are others going who haven't got their Zs with them because their in bits or whatever. Would be good to have you along Steve. :)

Right, I have just reconfirmed with Caroline at Beaulieu of our numbers. She's putting plot together for us that can accommodate up to 50 cars and we'll be the biggest gathering of all other marques and models, so this is a good show on our part. Understand there are over 200 vehicles there on display, plus of course the excellent museum and theme park around it.

It should be an AWESOME day and the weather is looking like it should be reasonable for the Sunday too!

Can I please stress the pre-meet point and the respective times. Because of this event, its size and indeed our own size, we ALL need to arrive at Beaulieu at the same time, therefore we all need to meet at Tesco around 9am and we aim to leave no later than 9.20 (if anyone has watched the film 'Clockwise', they'll know that time well)!
