Looking for a volunteer in S.E. London/Kent to take me for a drive

I've been contemplating a 300ZX for years and now theres one for sale on SXOC which I am 98% sure I want, but as I've never actually been in one I'd like to get a ride in one first to see what they are like in the flesh.

As its in Bath I can't just pop down there quickly for a quick drive in it so am hoping that someone in S.E. London/Kent would be able to take me for a drive in theirs sometime soon? (I say soon, as I don't want to leave it too long in case the car sells)

Will repay you for your time/effort with petrol money/beer tokens.

Forgot to say, I'm in Sidcup.

But obviously anyone willing to take me for a drive doesn't have to collect me, I will come to you.

Its former member on hwere Murt's old car................

http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?549483-UK-Z32-TT-Manual-new-MOT-cheap!

Aye, someone else mentioned that too :)

I didn't bother posting the SXOC link as wasn't sure if many people would be able to see it (can't remember if you have to be signed up to see that section) and also just in case anyone saw it and tried to beat me to buying it lol

Im already registered!!

you already told everyone this.....................

" theres one for sale on SXOC"

So it wasnt difficult to find it LOL!!!

Anyway it was a good car and if you pay your dues on here you can PM Jimmer for his opinion. He is mentioned in the advert.

Looking at the pics I can see it has had a nice Ser 2 JDM spec interior fitted. Better than the UK one (IMHO)

Yup true :)

I don't want to pay on here until I definitely know if I'm going to get the car or not.

However I've put my S14a up for sale now in expectation that I will buy it :)

To be honest, I don't know much about the 300ZX's yet (although I've started reading the info available on here) so any opinions on the car are welcome.

I haven't even yet figured out the differences between SWB and LWB etc (and don't know how to spot which is which).

SWB is the one that looks nice LWB is the akward fat ass version :)

:sleep1:

that's just opinion, most people cant even tell unless there side by side... both cars in my signature are swb. most wouldn't notice if they were or weren't.

The difference is the swb is 8" shorter in the wheel base ie the the rear wheels are further forward. This saves some weight and sharpens up the chassis. Visually this diffrences are most obviously the extended rear quarter panel and window, the fuel filler flap in located in front and behind the rear wheel respectively and the lwb has a slightly larger buldge in the bumper making it longer again.

B pillar forward both are identical, the differences behind this are mostly comestic ie panel diffrences because of the rear window angle. the actual subframe and running gear is identical.

In the states tt models were all swb, where as here in the uk only one model was available lwb tt. if your building a track car then really you have to be using a swb for its sharper handling and weight loss, preferably a slicktop to further extend the differences. If you want a monster cruiser focused around b road fun and soaking up the miles that's were the lwb comes into its own.
