Jeff managed to fix my central locking when it was at his last week, but unfortunately it's back to where it was.

Whilst parked somewhere dark and scary last night I thought I best lock my doors to prevent the inevitable rape I would of gotten, but because I didn't use the key fob and just slid the switch next to the handle it must of over stretched something and it ended up stopping the locking mechanism from unlocking. I had to climb out of the passenger side when I got it home.

It was way to late to look at it last night so to get the car off the road I thought I better get it sorted tonight, so I braved the cold and the darkness and managed to get the door open, had to have a key in the door and pull on the inside lock to get it to stretch far enough to open it, but it still wasn't unlocking properly, so off the door card came, baring in mind the only light I had was from my phone.

The actuator arm thing wouldn't budge, some how I'd managed to prize it in the locked position, so I had no choice but to cut the tie rap Jeff had used to secure the actuator arm to the locking mechanism releasing the two and allowing them to move independently. It freed it up but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to re attach it so that it would work again. I used a tie rap again like Jeff, and the actuator was working ok, but it just wouldn't operate the lock.

In the end I gave up, I was way to cold and had lost the use of my fingers, so I put the door card back on and took it for a drive.

Anybody that has succeeded in fitting/fixing remote central locking on a zed before, I salute you, you must have the patience of a saint :innocent:, and the hands of a child!!!

I'll probably have another go at sorting it out when I've got some spare daylight and the weathers a bit warmer...

It's quite an easy job mate but you need a little slide on clamp that locks down with grub screws. If I wasn't so far away I would come and fix it for you

Have a look at my how to in the Guides section mate. It shows you where to clamp to.

Drop me a PM, or bring it round my place on Christmas eve if you need a hand.

Hi Stevie, was going to suggest the same thing as Lexx sometime over the next couple of weeks.

not gauranteeing I can fix it. when I got mine had the same issue and with my sausage hands could not fix it and the plastic clip brok couldnt buy one etc etc..

so fashioned a little metal bracket to grip everything in place and all works fine now even the centra locking when I fitted the alarm..

Happy to help if I can?

Thanks guys, sounds like we'll have to make a mini meet of this. Christmas eve is no good for me though lexx, I'm working unfortunately.

I know it can be done with what I have, Jeff managed it. And it never worked better, it was my own stupid fault. I should of realised when it was a little hard to lock it by hand I should of just used the fob.
