So far I got a prosecution notice for speeding in Essex on the M11 (serves me right for being nice and taking the wife away for a nice weekend on her birthday), the autobox failed again and it will be off the road until end of next week (at least the recon company are covering it "again" under their warranty)!

Now I'm again stuck in another courtesy Micra and feeling very sick of 300zx non-drivership. Ownership is cool its just not being able to drive the damned thing! Ahhhh oooooommmmm, moan over and Karma restored to "tranquil" setting.

CheerZ,

I had it upgraded and a hard recondition done. Trouble is that they used thrust washers that are not handling the power it is pushing out. They do a lot of work on autoboxes for drag cars and are now making up some phosfor bronze ones or something like that, that will handle it ok. They certainly know their stuff I think that they just underestimated the power that would be output by the new engine when it was fitted afterwards. I can't complain as they are doing it all FOC under warranty even though I have done over 12k miles and it is more than 12 months since it was done.

Bloody Hell Jon......you've got an understanding g'box guy there!

Do you mind me asking who does your work on the gearbox.....and how much the recon. cost?

Cost me £1k for the original recon and it was all arranged via my local Nissan dealer in Burton Upon Trent and they are sorting it all out.
