Does anyone edit home video's ?

I've made an HD underwater video of my pond and I want to edit out the sections where nothing happens, leaving me with a video of my fish. The video is an hour long but contains a lot of sections where there isn't anything in front of the camera. Can anyone tell me what software I'd need to do this?

cheers

Windows Live Movies Maker (its probably installed as standard, but if not I think you can install it via Windows updates) - Basic, but simple to use and will probably work for your needs.

Alternatively, a lot of the youtubers use Sony Vegas Pro
