To cut a long story short, in a bizarre set of circumstances I have managed to trash my Ariel with my garage door!

My question is, can I just replace the telescopic section or will I have to swap out the whole unit?

Whichever option it has to be, can anyone explain how to go about it please?

Easier to get another aerial. Remove the boot plastics, middle panel, right rear light panel and then the panel covering the aerial, there is a nut to undo on the carrier (hole) which reveals the 2 screws that hold the top of the aerial and another one on the metal band directly in front of it, unplug the rubber drain pipe from the bottom of the inner wheel well, unplug the connector and aerial wire and you should be good to go.

Cheers Groover, a new Ariel it is then.

My problem is that I am not familiar with this area of the car. Earlier I did remove the panels so as to get an idea of what I was looking at but I am not sure where you are referring too. Eg where do I find the carrier and the nut to release it? Once I understand that part of the removal I will hopefully start to understand the rest.

Sorry for the questions.

Pretty sure you can change just the mast,as Groover says, probably easier to change the whole Assy...
