This is another theoretical question, as I don't have a Zed yet, but i was just wondering what people thought about A'PEXi tuning componnets? Their Power Intake air filter looks the dogs, though I don't know if it's available over here. Thanks guys

Yep it is.

Lots of people have Apexi stuff, from boost controlers to exhausts and inductions.

I have an Apex'i induction and I think its great. I could feel the power difference straight away. Smithy (Cybrecraft) on the trade section is taking orders for them for £125 I think it was, other places quoted £188. Cheaper than K&N which is around £200, and Blitz which is about £140 I think.

If you get a Z get an Apex'i Induction.

It's the dual funnel one, right? I have a magazine from Japan, Option 2, with a great looking advert for it, with lots of indecipherable writing and cool pictures. What is the sound like with the induction kit? And also, where to the air filters on a Zed go? I know it's somewhere in the nose, but they are always hidden away in pictures.

The panel between the headlights is removable, and the stock filter box is down there.

It's a PITA to remove - you take the top half (which has the MAF bolted to it) off in the usual way - four clips, two screws, a long bolt, and the big jubilee clip, and then you unbolt the bottom half (four bolts, two visible, two hidden facing forward behind the bumper, sometimes two smaller ones that attach it to the splash guard as well), and then bend the bottom half (it's two plastic halves joined by a section of mild steel) together so that it's small enough to fit through the hole..

Clever nissan put the filter box and then build the car around it I think ;)

Its that one.

The filter is found under the panel that has the Nissan badge between the lights. The badge has a Z on it for Imports. Here area pic of where it is.

Other are, BlitZ Popular, K&N some people have problems fitting them on because UK cars have the oil cooler in the way, I think K&N now only recomend it for US Z's, HKS - few people have these but they suposibly soak water which is not good for the MAS(Mass Air Sensor) on the end of the filter.

I like the Apexi because it fits without having to cut away at the splash gaurd. The BlitZ I think you need to do this, not sure about the HKS.

It's probably just me, but the A'PEXi air filter on the japanese site looks different to the US one. Thnks for the info anyway

I have an A'pexi power intake. It sounds nice and power increase could be felt as soon as you fit it. I won't recommend any other induction kit.

I bought it from Smithy £125 all in.

"AMMAR"

Hi Ammar,

APEXi intake filter cained the Blitz, HKS, Stillen etc. on test!

Recent dump valves were recalled though, blowing off a tad too much e.g. off the pipes! LOL

Good gear though. Filtration on the induction kit is second to none etc.

Gets my backing but I know nothing!

Check out the engine management system...awesome!
