What clutch

Right any ideas on what clutch would be best for me for fast road/ everyday use. The car has 430hp but has 480ft/lb and I don't have a fortune to spend on a clutch, what's all this 4 paddle and 6 paddle etc

Seen some on ebay but can only cope with 430 ft/lb. what good it that lol

i'd go with something like rps max street, good for 700ft lb

rps max street is $530, i's stay away from an unknown brand for clutches, also go with greater capacity so you don't worry about it all the time or if you add more power later

I have the RPS Street Max too. (make sure its the Max version, for your power output) . Its heavier than stock but because its a full face clutch its still very suited for everyday use.

Not sure anyone in the UK will stock though, would have to be a U.S import. (Z1)

They do PayPal to :)

That a good price then, is that everything I need, anyone used the company. I seem to know the name ?

just a note on clutches I uprated one in a Porsche boxster I had thay said it would feel like a stock on but in the real world it was like a on off switch and very hard to pull away at lights or be in traffic mdae the car a total pig to drive its was not a race clutch just one up over stock in the end had to replace it so before you buy any you need to find one one that has one to see its its progressive as you let the clutch peadal up and just on or off like the one I had used to stall the car all the time if you didn't give it loads of rpms when engaging the clutch

This is why the RPS Street Max has been so recommended over the years, its probably the most popular aftermarket clutch in the Z.

It feels like stock, but a little heavier. Very progressive, No On/off action like a paddle clutch.

so you can drive in traffic with no issue atall ? and pull off a normal rpm?

Yep, thats the purpose of the RPS Street range.

They do a lesser version too designed for stock turbo cars with increased boost , called the " Sport Street" that I have driven in several other Z's and that feels exactly like stock, with stock like pedal weight.

Then they have the usual Puck versions, designed for track and drag use that are a pain to use on the road but good for competition use.

That one looks good and almost £100 cheaper. Dave/ James do you think it sounds good??

I will not be going for anymore power. so 480ft/lb so do you think 550ft/lb should cope with ease.

It sounds good. Z1's own take on the RPS, that fits somewhere inbetween the the Sport Street and Max street.

No personal experience with it, might be worth checking for reviews on the U.S Z site.
