Now I've got the money to have my Z resprayed I was wondering if it's worth hving the Cambelt changed while the engines out for respray. looking through the service history it looks like it was changed at 26000 miles, now I've got 108000 on the clock, so I'm thinking its ready for a change.

Are there any other jobs that could be done besides a full engine/turbo strip down a rebuild while its out?

I would be grateful for any advice as I'm totally non mechanical(but I do cook well!)

By the way I hope the colour will be Amazon Blue Mettalic. Looks stunning, a mate had it on his Audi Sports Quattro before some little twat nicked it.

Regards

John

JW,

My advice is get the water pump done, plus anything else that comes off the engine easily, Oil seals, gaskets etc.

Hey that is some serious respray ..taking the engine out! also some serious mileage on the cambelt ..have u been lucky..Jeff TT

John,

definitely change the cambelt but also check the Tensioner, change the water pump & the 3" short hoses. Check there are no oil leaks from the end of the camshafts and inspect the camlobes for wear.

Look all round the outside of the engine looking for any leaks or corroded/damaged pipes/core plugs.

Hopefully everything will be ok !!

Best of luck

Mike
