been doing my bedroom lately and have papered the ceiling (quite easy) ive painted some walls white and the others shell wants striped paper, but she wants the sideways, you have to paste the wall and not the paper with the paper i have, never done it this way before, any hints or tips on hanging paper sideways instead of up and down?

Never seen wallpaper applied horizontally before mate..... But I have seen wallpaper with a horizontally orientated stripe....:wink:

 

I'd hate to apply the paper horizontally; as you'd have to go round the room and hope that the stripes line up when you meet the other end!!

First up, get a laser !! As already stated, if the lines dont line up, it looks shite.

Horizontal papering is a nightmare.

The chances of your ceiling being exactly parallel to the floor are pretty slim.

As you move around the room, the pattern will creep up or down (depending on which way you are going) if you are using a spirit level to keep it level.

 

If you really must do it (try your best to convince her otherwise), then use the ceiling as your horizontal plumb line. That way any mismatch in pattern will only be obvious against the skirtin boards so not as noticiable.

 

Honestly, talk her out of it. It just won't look right.

im doing opposite walls not all the way round, some walls papered some painted, ive got paste to wall paste so that will help

I would start at the top and with a spirit level draw a line the width of the roll then work your way down then if there is any difference in levels it will not show as much near the floor.

The pattern is round the wrong way..............:lol:

its done quite alot m8 ive done it twice as long as you have your levels right you will be fine.
