Surprisingly this didn't take as long as I thought, but I've managed to get it ready within the weekend. So here's the progress photo's

 

This is how it looked when I picked it up from Lee on Saturday. It appeared as if at some point a silencer had been welded into the tip, so my mission was to remove the weld and try and make it look as acceptable as possible.

 

 

 

 

My first attempt Saturday was to try and hacksaw it off, but it was taking the piss out of me

I expect cats will help. I've never had any cabin intrusion. The best thing about this system is that it sounds quite vocal outside the car, yet inside it just doesn't sound obtrusive like many aftermarket exhausts. I get the 'you car sounds loud' comments', but inside the car, it never really does, which is ace. No droan what so ever! Great on long journeys which is what mine generally get used on.

Yeah it sounds loads quieter when cruising at around 70, it's loads nicer than my last one. I sort of wished i'd wrapped some heat tape round it though now. may of dampened it that little bit more.

I have experienced most exhausts under the sun from rare ones to custom ones and (maybe being biased), strongly believe that the Veilside Evolution system is one of the very best, both in terms of sound as well as build quality. Only ubber rare systems like the ABFlug system and the B&B come in on par with it for sound and build quality. Those that have heard mine, or have experienced the Veilside system have always had very nice words to say about it. I was just lucky that mine came with one on my car. Strangely enough, when the importer I used said the one he'd gotten coming over from Japan for me all those years ago had this system on, I immediately started looking round for other systems. Reason? I saw their awful bodykits and thought it was going to be loud and obnoxious; I knew nothing of them as I'd never seen or heard one before.

 

I quickly changed my mind however after seeing it, hearing it and having it on the car. I will never sell the system.

I was inspired after reading this thread to get some sort of badges/plates from Alunox the makers of mine as I have nothing on it to say who the maker is, they are based in the UK, Wrexham to be more precise.

 

So I just fired off an email via there website and they dispatched the ones in the pic for free immediately with no quibbling :cool3: need to offer on the car yet but I'll find a spot for them.

 

They also told me they had some stickers and some larger plates so I have asked for these also cos I'm cheeky like that :tt2:.

Anyway an update on these emblems, after a wait and some emails back and forth they have finally sent me an invoice to pay to confirm the order and they'll be on their way to us shortly. gunna paypal them later tonight

Just out of interest mate, what have you done with the old exhaust?

At the minute it's hiding behind my garage looking very sorry for itself. Haven't figured out what to do with it yet. I wanted one of the tips with the kakimoto logo as a souvenir, but I can't be bothered to chop it off...

I only ask as I have just bought a pair of back boxes as I don't like my single exit exhaust, and I need a center section before I can think of fitting them :)

Dude I completely missed this, sorry. It's still just sat in my garden, your welcome to it but it really isn't in that good condition. after getting it off and it been open to the good old British weather for a few weeks it really is rotten. May last you a few months but I wouldn't bother if it were me.

 

 

 

Anyway on another note, The emblem's have sort of arrived, or they're in the country at least. this arrived today from parcel force ...

The wording is different. Should say evolution below, we have design. I'm assuming that's what bird means?

I didn't even notice, I assumed the evolution was only on the gold label. I've forgotten what the original advert showed now. I'll have a look when I get on a computer. Are the sizes at least the same Lee? I did think they were longer than I expected. The next task though is how the hell do we stick them on?

They are bigger and different writing on them. Both the evolution bit are the small writin at the top.

 

I'll take pictures of the differences next to each other when I'm home if you like?
