I have no heat inside the car. I haven't checked anything as yet but I'm just wondering if there's any easy way to check if my heater core's been bypassed...?

Anything obvious I should be looking for generally? Blower works fine but only blows cold, radiator is fine, cooling system is fine with no leaks or issues.

Cheers.

there is a hose behind the engine that gives the heater core the hot water to heat the interior, check to see if its been looped to bypass the core, if it has more than likely the matrix has burst and will need changed

You're not kidding, Lexx!!

I've had a quick look just now and I could see a hose connected to the firewall roughly dead centre of the car - I'm assuming this is the main heater hose? If so, it doesn't seem to be looped anywhere so I think my next stop will be under the dash to check that everything's connected under the steering column.

Failing that, I dunno...!!

Si, there are plenty of post of fixing the heater code and by-pass with pics... do a search and it should give you a better idea of what to look for..

There are two hoses coming out of the fire wall behind the engine, if they are not looped together (engine side) then it could also be your heater thermostat that is located behind the glove box on the A/C unit, you cant miss it its fed by a large wire into a metal bracket

Now with the help of my technical diagram below (made just now using MS paint i might add)

situated behind the glove box and dash is the following,

Green blower motor

Red A/C cooling box

Blue Heater matrix

Blue box, is location of A/C thermostat thingy ma bob. if this is faulty, then it doesnt open the heater matrix to allow hot air / water to flow through it (pretty sure thats how it works, could be wrong, but ive had this fail on a pug 406 before and changing it gave me hot air back)

Cheers Gerry and VS :) Gives me things to look for.

agreed... I only put the post there to show options and info... :)

aah :D still shocked at just how easy the zed's dash is to remove, when i first looked at it i was like "ho god im going to be here ages" but 10 bolts later (after striping the side pods and clocks off obviously) out she came.

yeah, I've got to do my heater matrix and been looking at doing the job... you are 100% correct as well as other repairs (like lifting vents & targa drain) are made really easy and might as well check them at the same time.
