FFS don't believe it having to post bad shit again.

 

Some twat pranged into my car this morning, totally his fault, I was stationary :mad:

 

My new bumper is pretty ****ed and headlamp, but more importantly now the car is not boosting.

 

I am getting to the second line on the boost guage and my guage is reading -5 (jap measurement kgcm2 or whatever it is).

 

Could the prang have caused this, or have my turbos seized unluckly at the same time. I have had a look under the bumper and it looks like one of the pipes into the intercooler is being squezed, could this be the problem?

 

I have done an ecu check and getting 55.

 

Is it safe to carry on driving in this condition.

id check to see if either if your intercoolers have been damaged behind the bumper. is it running ok off boost & at idle??

OF COURSE the prang caused it. If you have legal cover on your insurance - and witnesses (or the dimwit punter has already admitted liability) - than every problem caused by him driving into your car should be repaired at his (or his insurance company's) cost.

 

If the prang dented a pipe which reduced airflow so that the turbos failed, then that's his liability.

 

If you keep on driving it, and add to the damage, then he might get off the hook.

 

I am sure you can find a good experienced engineer here who can write you the necessary report.

Paul C m8y - didn't mean the caps for you. Just that (whatever the reason for the damage) any damage attributable to the accident is the fault of the bloke wot caused it.

 

If I dropped me sandwich because some hillman ran into me, he would have to pay for the sarnie as well as the new bumper :)

 

Therefore, whatever went wrong with Martin's Z at the time of the crash - even if over and above the dented bumper - is "of course" due to the accident. At least if an engineer's report confirms this....

I have had to buy another car this afternoon I can't go through the hassel of no car again.

 

Just for my own interest does this sound like turbo failure or would a pipe coing off cause this? I remember when Andy's turbos went i'm sure he was getting more on his guage. Would this mean both turbos (only one side of the car was hit)?

 

Like you say Gio I am going to have to get an engineers report done and see what they have to say. The guy (****** :mad: ) admitted to nothing at the scene, I went ****ing mental at him as I'm sure you can understand just getting the car back.

 

I had a passenger but I don't think he can count as a witness but a guy came forward who lived a few houses down who said he saw it and would be.

if one of the turbos has gone then the guage will come up to 0. Sounds like youre leaking air big time, you'll probably find the IC is mashed to crap on that side.

Don`t foret the whiplash, can take 48 hrs to take effect so get your neck checked out!!

Does sound like the IC hose being crushed mate. Sorry to hear about this!

im sure one of your intercooelr pipes or maby an intercooler has been damagedif it was front damage, in which claim for turbos anyway :D and Intercoolers lol

but i know how you feel , being zedless again :(

look at it this way:

 

if the insurance company stump up for new ic's & turbos - you may as well get some uprated ones!!!!! :)

i know how it feels to have zed troubles believe me. sounds like the other guy will have to pay for whatever went wrong. i would get it to a specialist pronto. good luck.
