With the Gulf it was more than obvious why the whole world dived in...OIL!!! Yer 10w-60 Castrol for yer Z etc. was at threat. LMFAO :D

 

Yeah 300,000 Mogs were killed under the warlords and yes it was genicide but I can't help asking myself why we bother intervening.

 

Watching the movie which was based on the incident where they tried to capture the controlling warlord who was stopping the aid and food relief from getting through was tense and at points I thought just kill all the fcukers!

Yep and at the end of U-571 they acknowledge that it was the RN that actually recovered the Enigma code machines! That film was more adjusted fiction than reallity.

 

Black Hawk Down is acclaimed and won 2 oscars for it's accuracy in line with actual events that took place.

 

Reason why it was such a good film is that what should have taken no more than half an hour to capture a couple of Mogadishu warlord hierarchy ended up with the yanks getting into a whole pile of sh1te!!!

Westerners were leaving who had lived there for years, because they became increasingly scared for their own safety due to increasing hatred of westerners.

As for being xenophobic, I have said previously that I am not. I am just against foreign nationals IMPOSING their culture on another nation (in the eg. I talked about - UK).

I sypathise with ethnic minorities who have been born in a "foreign" land, but I believe they should be brought up as British citizens NOT foreigners who happen to have been born in the UK.
