I was thinking... and *yes* I am gonna do it anyway even if it's billy no mates (apart from the missus who is up for it) ..... but is anyone else up for a weekend meet so we can cruise (errm I mean crawl) through the Blackpool illuminations this autumn?

 

My idea is if anyone wants to make a weekend of it we all book a Saturday night at one of the bigger hotels (that has a carpark!) The rest who just want to make an evening of it come up late afternoon and join the convoy.... and given some dry weather we cruise the illumnations both ways targas off (and heaters on most likely)

 

Then later we hit the town and go to the Motown and Soul club near North Pier (or whatever floats your boat)

 

Just asking around right now to see if anyone else wants to do this....... then hopefull I can get some dates organised and something booked

 

Hope I really am not Billy no mates on this one - but my Z will be on the Blackpool fronts whatever lol

iangreenfield. i am in that village urban hotel in blackpool, which its name is really de vere. it has indoor and out door pools sports bar,bar meals and a restaurant. fitness gym starbucks coffee shop. and massive parking. best of all PGA golf club and driving range. so next week my clubs and swimming budgie smugglers are comming. so if u fancy the drivin range aswell hire clubs here aswel.

Urban Village sounds fine to me - obviously we need to arrange a place and time for all those coming for the day to meet

Me and the Mrs are going to hopefully get there between 11 & 12, lunch, chill, check in whenever we are easy

OK guys we have a plan for the Saturday

 

For the illuminations run we are gonna meet at the Village Urban Resort, East Park Drive , Blackpool, FY3 8LL

 

We will be leaving there at 6pm in a convoy heading up to Bispham where the illuminations start at the north end. If you want to join this convoy please meet by 6pm

 

At Bispham we wil stop for Fish and Chips at the Bispham Kitchen, Red Bank Road, Bispham before starting the run through the illuminations. (see map below)

 

We should be at the chippy around 6:30pm or so. If anyone wants to meet directly there with the rest of us then please be there around that time.

 

Hopefully we will have chance get some pics and then start our run through the illuminations about 7:15pm or so depending how well we did with the timekeeping so far lol

 

With a bit of luck we may get a photo opportunity at the big Mirror Ball south of Blackpool. I'll bring my DSLR and a tripod so hopefully we can get some good pics.

 

Hopefully that time table suits everyone?

 

Anyone interested in driving down to Lytham St Annes for a saturday lunchtime photo shoot as well please let me know and we can organise that too, about 1pm
