RIGHT we have my partner that is, has another car and im a named driver does this equate to owning or having another car, because i would like to insure my zed now its nearly finished on a classic policy. say 5.000 miles or under.fully comp and i shall list mods like fmic and exhaust air filter ebc alloys ect .any help much appriceated,,.

Basically if you fail to mention any modifications to the car you are not insured in the event of a claim and the other annoying thing I have found is that alot of companies will not quote for a modified car on a classic policy

being a named driver counts as having us of a car but not owning it as you wont be the main policy holder

dose this mean i coulnt get classic insurance them?

why not im a named driver on my other car and got my car done on a classic policy with footman james, cost me 185 quid for a year. Went through royal sun alliance.

In regards to whether you have another car. If you and your partner live together then you would be classed as partner/common law as you share a financial responsibility. If you live at different addresses then you wouldn't be classed as a partner - ratherbotfriend and girlfriend (most likely other on an insurance system.

 

A lot of companies ask if you have or have use on another car. See what is more accurate (own another car/named driver on another car etc).

I would have thought a driveway is fine. Have you rang any companies

the one I got was prefer to be garaged between the hours of 10 and 6 but im sure a drive behind a locked gate would be perfectly fine

I think it was Footman James who were the only ones who would give me a classic policy mate. Some just just no mods, some allowed a few mods but mines to much for them and other required a garage overnight

 

While I remember im still waiting for you to tell me the names of these body shops around the Norwich area that you recommend from that other thread?

The criteria for classic cars policies vary from scheme to scheme. We have scheme were you don't necessarily have to own a 2nd car, like wise the car doesn't always have to be garaged.

sorry eggs i work away so dont have info at work cas i work offshore in a floating tin box. anyway i still dont know what his called .buy that i mean his business name. he works in from newton flotman just up the road from stratton strawless. ive seen his work and ill be taken my car to his for a repaint in two weeks time.ill get you his number but he is not from this country and yourll better meeting him in person. ive now seen three resprays his done he takes his time and this job he is doing me well lets just say his proberly saving me 1.5k

well here you go i live at nr104dr ive had my licence for over twenty five years so has my partner. i private rent a house dont know why the aske but id like to know. we have another 5 year old pug i want full cover comp and like i say i work away so millage will be low less than 4.500 per year i was born in 69 and the other half 71 you do the math. i have a compleaty clean licence with no indormence accident or convitions nor has the other half.should be straght forward enough ,what u think?leave some contact details and ill give you a ring. and if anyone esle know of some competative comps then ill give them a shout to.cheers.
