Slight clutch issue.

My clutch is slowly loosing pressure and fluid, 30mm over a week I guess. Anyways I suspected it to be the braided line I fitted last summer, bit annoying as I've only done about 1500 miles since then. Another member had the same issue, we both brought them at the same time, so maybe it was a dodgy batch.

I checked it today and there's a sweaty patch half way down and a damp patch on the box to correspond. So I'm pretty damn sure this is the problem. Anyone else had this issue? Il be phoning te person who supplied it, anyone know what the cost of a new slave is aswel, that's the only other thing it could be.

Hi Im new sorry for butting in but I have the same problem but haven't got the braided lines, car got a new master and slave but still losing pressure, is it worth changing to braided lines? Is it a big job to fit them? is it just a leak in the line? Sorry for all the questions but i'm not a mechanic

Hello mate, welcome to the forum. The braided line is easy to fit and does away with a lot of unnecessary pipe work, it also makes it much easier to bleed the clutch. Even though it's an easy job, I'd suggest getting a mechanic to fit it, as access isn't the best and better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks, so you recommend replace the standard lines with braided and if fitted correctly all will be good yes? Is there different types or are they all the same, I guess best place to get them is Ebay

There's two lengths this is important. One is to change the stock clutch line tree, the other is to replace it completely. I have converted from automatic so didn't have the tree hence why I needed the full length version. They are made by hel, and I purchased mine through zcentre.

Right, I got myself on the phone to Luke. After a bit of a chat I explained its defiantly not been melted, he came out with two points. First check that is the actual issue, second if it is a faulty line he will honour a warranty. On his suggestion I pelled back the carpet under the steering Collin to reveal a damp mark. Back on the phone master cylinder repair kit was on my door with a text message service keeping me upto date on its progress, through its 48 hour joinery. Swapped it all out sorted.

I know a few don't get on with zcentre and we all moan about the post but il give him his dues seriously couldn't of been more helpfull.
