Hi guys im upgrading my air intake to a duel maf intake, with my next engine service ( swb tt 1989 ). Apparently to manage the new air stat's and fuel efficiency i need an upgraded ECU to manage every thing.

here the link: http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=5

I was goingto go for the z1 ecu with the eprom chip to do this, is this ok for now and future processes.

big z thanks

You going for true dual working mafs? Or 2 mafs, 1 working and 1 as a dummy. You will need a sellin maf translator for that. It meters the air through 1 maf then doubles it and tricks the ecu somehow. What other mods you got? Thought this was only worth it for going above 450bhp.

I looked into this at 1 point but though I'd just go for a stand alone ecu and map sensor of I went that far. Then you don't get the issues with rough low rev running from the split intake.

Not gospel, it what I've picked up on the way. Sure the experts will be along in due time.

Cheers

yeah i was going to get the selin kit with the 2 mafs , the reason for doing it this way is because im upgrading certain parts as stages. I dont know how high im going to go for bhp but having the suffciant amount of air and a good ecu to run it and future upgrades is my main concern for the bigger upgrades later .but either way just want to know if anyone is running a z1 ecu ?and is it good or not good.

thankz broz

For ECU work & mapping, you should speak to TurboNoz in the traders forum
