ever since i got my zed its had a idle fault, i believe it is down to the idle control valve plug as it's full of corrosion, but no amount of cleaning seems to make it go away. It will sometimes idle like a dream but when any electrical load is added e.g. lights, fogs or even putting my foot on the brake the revs drop like a stone and it will almost stall just before the revs pick back up and it idles at around 1500rpm. there are other times where it is 100% perfect and there are also sometimes it likes to idle at 2000rpm. im going to change the plug anyway but want to know if it could be anything else.

thanks guys

jay :)

Let us know what happens when you change the plug mate - I am having similar issues with mine and will be hopefully investigating further this week after a major service.

Mine likes to idle in rrandom places and have a strange missfire on idle - I reckon cleaning the throttle bodies is a good place to start also as these can get gunked up.

Best,W.

yeap.......... and a load of other things as as well...

so, the first think is to make sure you do regular PM on the engine bay, electrical connectors and replaceable parts. (or clean the air filter if possible). including battery & alternator.

there is a guide on adjusting the TB linkage so that its balanced and also one on cleaning the TB's.

there is a guide on removal and cleaning the IAA unit as well.

check plugs, tps voltage (guide) and vac/boost leaks.

a common issue is fuel line leaks around the plenum, particularly at the front under the TB linkage but also at the dampers.

hope that helps...
