Hi guys,

If this isn't suitable for here then let me know! My friend has an RX7 which he has owned from new, 1998, 40k miles, manual, Twin Turbo, white, no rot etc.. Hasn't been started in 6 years as he has been away with the Army. Currently needs a new clutch so isn't driveable, but he has offered it to me and I can't quite put my finger on how much it would be worth...

Currently sits in spain as he was living out there for a short while, but is registered in the UK still. will cost me £500 to get it back here, but am wondering whether it is worth bringing it back and restoring it or selling it on as is :s...

A few years ago these would have been worth 5k pretty easily, but these days the market seems pretty weak, but seeing as there are not many with that low miles etc it may be a gen for someone?...

Best, William.

Its like a Japanese TVR, great cars but have to rebuild the engine around 40k? so im guessing you will have to rebuild the engine on that one and new clutch so about 2k.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Deff a 7, not sure the location in spain just yet. Would cost me 1500 to get it back to the uk all inclusive after buying it...

It is tempting..

I'd have thought the same - certainly no more than that. And then with those extra costs (and remember it has not been used for 6 years, so there may well be a lot more hidden things to do); plus transporting it to the UK, is it really worth it? You'd be lucky to have a car worth £6k when it's done - and it could well end up costing you more than that by the time you have it finished!!

Richard:wink:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
