Has anyone replaced this? I know I've read lots of postings but I'm looking at changing mine and the Nissan FAST CD lists it as a kit:

37521-33P25

Nissan UK want £156 for it, but it is in UK stock so it's overnight delivery.

How did you solve the problem and what did it cost?

Nissan gave me one for about £135 inc VAT - pushed for some discount as they always serviced my cars (until the Z).

I thought I would change it myself but chickened out because you really need a ramp to get it up high enough.

Garage did it in 3hours labour - needed to drop my big stainless exhaust system. Also the prop nut in the centre joint has a huge torque on it.

Good luck

Tim,

I got my center support bearing from Coz in US for 86USD + shipping.

I changed it myself but it's not easy.

First, there is a huge bolt holding it and it was really tight.

Second, you have to have the tools to pry the bearing off the prop shaft.

...if you know what a hub puller is and how to use it, then you can most likly do it. Removal of the exhause (cat back) is easy. Removal of the prop is easy. Only real pain is getting the car up in the air.

good luck

ps - replace your rear gear box mount first as it's most likly this which is causing the problem - it's cheaper than the centre bearing...

I know that Mike Feeney sells these and I thought that they were about £100. Try him 01277-374201

and not back until the 29th Oct. He got me one for around £117 + VAT (from memory).

Hi Tim

The aus site UAS attribute part of the reasons for this bearing failure as being down to the engine mounts going, but obviously this is a far bigger job!

I replaced mine a few weeks ago, no big deal really, just make sure you've got a BIG breaker bar and strong arms to do the nut up again! Oh, and a good vice to hold the whole thing.

Took me around two hours to do it myself for the first time.
