What is going on?

 

I thought that with the upgrade of the forum things would go from strength to strength but I have to say it's gone backwards!

 

At least on the old setup there were loads of fights, fall outs, pics and funny posts that kept it interesting.

 

Since we moved over I have to say IMHO it's gone sour!

 

No more hilarious threads, no more daft pics and to be perfectly honest a loss of posts from hardcore members it's nothing short of fcuking sh1te!!!

 

New forum has been up and running now for a few weeks and it strikes me that it's going downhill sharpish.

 

Die hard techies are propping the whole thing up with boring tech talk but the whole life of our forum seems to evade me big time.

 

Even makes me feel like getting shot to be honest!

 

I loved and kept going with my car for one reason and one reason only...this place!

 

Once the spark and character leaves here I get shot and leave!

 

Maybe that's what some people want? But I put it to you that I haven't posted that much lately so the lack of character that was our forum has fcuk all to do with me!

 

Boring...boring...boring!

 

Disappointed and gutted at the lack of interest and to be honest it's highlighting what I strived to proove!

 

Yeah you can talk tech all day long but what this forum and the members was all about was having a laugh!

 

RIP 300zx.co.uk(as we knew it!) :(

All I can say is yes its quiet but give it time. Timmy I love you dont go!

 

AND if it hadnt been for this place, i would have got rid of the Z after about 6 months of ownership! This forum and more importantly the peolpe and advice on it has saved me thousands! £20 quid alot of money, in the real world!

IMHO this is another problem the Tec is not used for its full purpose,It is just a section where everyone can post.

Thats why I say close the lot down and just put a nice home page up,with all the benefits 300zx.co.uk contains;).

exactly my point, this forum is used for mindless chatter when it should be pure techy stuff, and the moderators aparently do nothing about it :rolleyes:.

Anyway, the tightwads can still read it in the general forum, just not post to it.

Look mate it's mindless chatter that has opened doors for people like me to get my car sorted!

 

Mates is what this place is all about.

 

Iain has saved me thousands of dollars in getting my car to where it is now.

 

My example is this...I priced up getting a Blitz zorst and intake direct from Racelogic and then I got a quote from GPS(Johnny and now Latzio) and you do the math!

 

I would have got shot of my car had it not been for this place and I've made some cracking mates out of it to boot.

 

People who will go out of their way to help you out without thinking twice about it. Iain, AndyP, Duffman etc.

 

So you think that this alone is not worth 20 squids?

TBH, I left this forum for a good while because of all the "school-boy, lads-down-the-pub slagging each other off" type of abuse that went on here.

 

I didn't like it, I left - big deal. Didn't make a song & dance about the job. Can't go so far as to say that I wouldn't have my Zed if it wasn't for this forum as that would be blatantly untrue. I bought my Zed because I fell in love with the power, the styling and the wonderful fuel economy of it (;)), it had nothing to do with this forum.

 

I've come back to see a new forum and yes, I'm quite happy to pay X amount to keep this forum going. Have already emailed Craig about it and hopefully I'll get a reply in a bit.

 

The fighting and abuse was pants, pure and simple. Am all for humour and jokes, as those who knew me in my 1000+ post life know. :D

 

Give the new forum a chance - it'll pick up, I've no doubt. :)

LMFAO - this has turned from "There aren't many posts these days" to "So who's paid so far..."

 

Guess what - I aint posted much on the new site - 2 reasons - its a pig to keep track of all the different posts IMO - FAR too many seperate forums. The second reason is that I wasn't near a computer with net access last week.

 

As far as the "This is the tech forum, its the only free forum, don't post drivel..." arguement goes, erm, well if its the only free forum, and you have something to say but can't be arsed paying, then what are you gonna do??? ;)

 

£20 IS a lot of money - to some it aint - to me it is!

 

How to sort the situation? I don't really know vera LOL Reduced number of forums would be nice :) Also, the free to read/post situation on each forum needs reviewing. The main resource I would have thought would be the tech. If you want increased members then make the tech a pay to view forum. I can't see the justification in making the general forum pay per view tbh. Maybe the small number of subscribed members is down to the fact that no one wants to pay just to be able to post general chit chat?

 

Just a few thoughts on the matter...

:view new posts:

on the top right of the forum?

that way you can keep track of them?

And 20 pounds is 20 pounds where ever you come from. but you cannot be serious when you say you cant afford to pay 20 pounds, because then you own the wrong car period.

A bit harsh, Warren....Andy has just bought his own house for a start. Not everyone has money just lying about waiting to be spent.

 

£20 is £20 is £20 - to some it is a piddling sum that is lost down the back of the sofa, to others it means that they can have half a tank of fuel or whatever.

 

Regardless, it is people's own prerogative whether they wish to spend X amount on whatever.

Group buy on Anadin Extra? Apparently you only need about 15-18 to be successful (depending on relative body size - CUE NELSON!):D

he he im not saying that at all, like i said 20 pounds is 20 pounds, hell that works out to 320 rand so it is alot of money, but my point is if you drive a car like this and cant afford to put out 20 pounds a year to something like this forum, then your disilusened and need a very fast lesson in business economics, because hell my car cost me 50 pounds when i think about it :D
