Honestly!!

15 minutes ago my doorbell rings and there is a Eastern European chap (in a Yodel Hi-Viz jacket) saying "I have a parcel for you sir"

But he is empty handed. He walks back to a beaten up 55-plate Transit van to fetch it, but comes back with nothing; and says "sorry sir, give me a few minutes..." Well I was still waiting as I typed this thread - but half way through he banged on my door and says "Mr Hudson...?"

I looked down at the parcel and it is addressed to number 23..... I live at number 31 so I pointed to my door number - a bit pissed off at being disturbed.

Who are these people???? And FFS, he is still outside now hunting in the back of the van for a parcel that probably isn't mine:huh: HOnestly, if you knock on someone's door at this time of the evening, at least make sure you do actually know what you're supposed to be delivering

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

could be a crook knocking to see if someone is in to rob the place, happened round here some time ago, guy used to turn up to a house he thougt no-one was in but used to knock first, trick was he had a pizza bag in his hand and if someone answered he would ask if they had ordered a pizza, great cover story as no one questions a guy knocking on doors late at night delivering pizza's

Could be mate. And that's great cover story indeed.....!

They have gone now; thing is though, without sounding racist, they really stand out around here!! Julia is actually the only person of obvious ethnic origin regularly seen in the village (apart from the staff in the local Indian and Thai restaurants of course).

I've taken a note of their reg number and appearance just in case someone gets burgled tonight...:shifty:

I hate that company with a passion.

To me that sounds like that have made HUGE improvements in their service.

I agree, they are dismal. My girlfriend had a large rabbit hutch delivered that came in three large boxes. The guy knocked on the door same as in your case to see if I was in, then goes back to the van and opens the side door at which point everything near the door falls out including one of the boxes which was obviously already damaged. The inside of the van was a state it had blatantly been loaded by morons throwing everything into it.:censored:

The guy does a couple of trips to bring it all over and asks me to sign, so I signed it 'Items damaged'. He gets all arsey about it and tells me I have to sign it 'unchecked'. Had a right attitude on him as well, one of those ones that makes you want to load your best haymaker and deliver it into his face  Really makes my blood boil
