I have mentioned this before (also chatted it with Jeff @ Zedworld last time we met as he is REO for midlands and he is happy for me to post this event here)

 

They have this big classic car show every year in Trentham Gardens Stoke-On-Trent with around 1200 cars and 5000 visitors

 

Date: 16 June 2013-16 June 2013 Times: 10.00am - 5.00pm

 

Car Information: Twenty two super years at this great venue which offers over 1200 vehicle entries, 50 Club Stands, Autojumble and Trade - with the beautiful backdrop of the now fully refurbished Trentham Park and Italian Gardens. Over 5,000 visitors enjoy this great day out every year.

I had a quick chat today with the show organisers - they would be happy for any of our Zeds to attend :biggrin:

 

And it is cheap!

 

Entry is £3.50 per car for driver and up to three passengers (it costs you far more than that just to visit Trentham Gardens normally!)

 

This gives full access to Trentham Gardens which is actually quite a nice place for a family day out! http://www.trentham.co.uk/trentham-gardens

 

If any wives and gf's who wan't to go out into the 'craft village' they can get a pass out

 

We could either book in individual passes - I will be going anyway - or if we want a group stand (all cars into their own group are parked together and we can put up club banners etc) then we need at least six cars and we book them in as a group, all the passes go to the club organiser who redistributes them to the individual members attendind

 

The organisers close entries 3 weeks before the event, so ther is some time to organise

 

The organisers are www. transtarpromotions.com They also have several more shows around the midlands but trentham is the largest they tell me

 

So come on guys, what do you think? It's a cheap family day in nice surroundings with plenty to do - and a good chance to promote our cars and the club

Now then.... since my last short holiday in April don't let this worry anyone cos I ain't running away with the money to spend on cocktails and loose women lol ... but I'm off to the sun agan on Mon 13th May and won't be back to cloudy UK till 5th of June (cos two weeks just ain't enough time in the sun don't you think) but as I said the passes are all payed for so I'll finailse everything when I get back

Sorry, been too hectic to commit to much anything recently. Busy that weekend, but may still make it. Rather not use up a stand pass if someone else can definitely attend.

Hi Guys

 

Well I am back after 23 days drifting around Spain

 

And the good news is I also have all the passes for the show, they arrived while I was away :wink:

 

I took the chance of ordering four spare passes (as they were cheap) - so I have 20 in total (16 for cars I already have details for)

 

While away I have received a PM from two other members asking if I have any spare passes so assuming they take them that means we now have 18 cars attending

 

That means I still have two spare if anyone wants them, Noz or anyone else. These passes are all for the club stand so we will all be together

 

I also have all the info for the show (admitance times etc)

 

Once I am up to speed (still got half a holiday head on lol) I'll get everything updated tomorrow, including where we can all meet for a bit of breakfast then drive in convoy to Trentham. If anyone wants the passes sending out, to arrive individually instead of making up a convoy before the show, let me know and I can get them posted - you will still be on the club stand.

For those wishing to meet up and drive in convoy to the show I propose we meet at the Weathervane at Meir Stoke-On-Trent

The pub is open from 8am serving breakfast and is very easy to find, it is directly off the A50 trunk road about 1/2 a mile from the Meir Tunnel.

 

Also there is a McDonalds directly opposite the Weathervane for those who prefer fast food, parking is pretty good plus there is a Tesco Petrol Station serving up 99 octane if anyone needs to top up so I think it ticks all the boxes!

 

I will be there from 8.10am as I am gonna get a breakfast at the pub.

 

The Weathervane is about 4 miles from the show venue

 

So all in all it seems a good choice

 

I will distribute passes on the day and then we can all drive to the show at 9am

 

For anyone wishing to arrive individually please let me know and I will post your passes out to you beforehand

 

In either case the last admission time for exhibitors is 10:30am. Anyone arriving individually will still be directed to the club stand. We are invited to take along banners, ropes, publicity etc - if anyone can help with that please let me know

 

The exhibitors entrance is next to the Poachers Cottage Resturant on the A34, a few hundred yards from the main entrance to Trentham Gardens, which will be clearly signposted on the day

 

When I received the passes I found that there is a change to admitance rules. The passes cover one car with driver plus one adult passenger and up to two children under 16yrs old. Additional passengers can be in the vehicle but must pay regular admission on arrival (£12 adult, £11 OAP, £7.50 child) I hope this does not cause any inconvenience for anyone. If you have additional passengers they ask that you have exact money ready on arrival to avoid queues

 

Dogs are allowed on the show site and in the Gardens as long as they are kept on a lead.

 

 

There are a few more T&C but non seem particularly relevant, I will scan and upload the whole info later though

I too would like to enjoy a breakfast Rich and to drive straight to the pub but it would mean me setting off at 6.45 am to get there for around 8.15 am, I am all for getting up early once in a while but why do we have to get to the event at 9am, can we not put back everything 30 mins, sure this'll help myself and others out who have a distance to travel ?
