Hi everyone...I'm hoping some of you people might be able to help me out. I've got a 94 Zed, and recently I found out from my local Nissan dealer that my front tie end bush, and rear subframe bush were knackered. Nissan are quoting me a few £££ short ot £1200. I've found a place in Tamworth, West Midlands, that will do the same job using something called poly bushes for a total of £860.

I just wondered two things: firstly, is fitting poly bushes a good idea? I've seen lots of posts on various sites advising to use genuine Nissan parts, so I don't want to get stung on a poor quality repair, to then find out I need the job done again by Nissan.

Secondly, does anyone know anything about this ZedWorld place? (http://www.zedworld.co.uk). I don't want to taking my car to a bunch of cowboys! (if comments about them are too derogatory, email me direct at tonybennett@qlsltd.fsnet.co.uk)

Thanks a lot!

It's worth doing a search on some of the old forum tech posts. Poly bushes seem to be toprated by members who've done it. I haven't so have no personal experience.

I would swear by JeffTT and would use him for loads of jobs if Tamworth wasn't so far away.

Cheers - Gio

Nice one. I'd never heard of them until I did a search on the Internet yesterday, so I didn't know if ZedWorld were good or bad.

Glad to hear about the poly bushes. Looks like he has my business, based on your opinion!

Thanks for your help!!

Oops...I just realise dthat ZedWorld advertises on this site! That'll teach me to actually check the site properly first, then I won't need to ask dumb questions!

I didn't mean anything by the bit about any potential deogatory commenst about ZedWorld in my original post....I didn't know you guys knew about him at that stage, an was just trying to find out some info, good or bad.

Just look at him go lol!!! :D

never been to him myself, but phoned jeff the other week & he was very helpful.

Iv only ever heard good things about him & im sure most people here would say the same.

I dont think you'll go far wrong taking it to Jeff.

hi

I've just had my car at Jeff's (and spent £3000 on it) would have cost me a lot more if i'd gone to nissan and i wouldn't have my car back, due to no dosh

I decided to go thru a roundabout rather than round it!!, the tyre blew out, on me while I was breaking...

I found him really helpful, what I did was have a chat first on the phone, then you know where you are then

quite a few of the guys have been to jeff and saw the mess my car was in

i'll email him and send you a before and after piccie if you like

I have all my servicing and ad hoc work done at Zedworld. I don't let anyone else touch my car. I'm sure you will be more than happy with Jeff's quality of work and prices.

Have only heard good things about Jeff and when I spoke to him on the phone a while ago he was most helpful. Wouldnt have a second thought about him doing some work on your car as he knows his stuff.

As for poly bushes get em on there rapid. Every car I have done up over the years has had em on and they are much better than the original "soft" bushes. If you are still unsure try Mike Feeney at MJP Eastern Auto, his proces for original Nissan bits are usually much cheaper and he is a valuable source of knowledge!

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

Cheers everyone. I phoned Jeff yesterday and had a chat with him. He does sound like he knows his stuff. I

just wanted to make sure, because I've see a few horror stories posted on other sites....anyhow, the call ended up with me booking it in for a service, then we can take a look at the rest (inc. a couple of rust spots).

Thanks everyone!
