Hi my NA Zed recently got wrote off by a Corsa and Im looking to buy myself another but a TT.

My brother suggested asking on the forum to see if anyone knew anything about this car or had been to see it?

i'd worry when the seller puts this in the advert:

you'll only really tell from going to look at it mate, plus, the paintwork looks like its based on 50 shades of grey. are any 2 panels the same shade?? Whats important though mate, is what shes like underneath.

and its not a genuine Manual ... its been converted from Auto ..

as if u look all the auto spares are in the boxs & prop

Manual boost control but no chip mentioned, he talks about it being fast and rwd etc. I bet he has turned the boost up and clashed it about. I quite like the look of the car but shame about the bad paint matches.

is there a big difference between a genuine manual and a converted one?

Mine is a Auto-Maual conversion. I think the only diference is something to do with the Turbos being smaller in some way to reduce lag.

are the main different other than some pipe work that may not be fitted depending on who did the conversion

 

Auto Tubs on a Manual car gives a slightly better driving experience .. But will Lack the very top end power but really in the real world not that noticeable

Are true manuals from the factory really that rare??

I know mine is a true factory manual, but if so many autos were converted to manuals, it shows that there was quite a few manuals produced.

I spoke to the bloke and e said he ran it at 16 psi for a 'short time'

As mark said it depends on who converted it, mines an auto shell with a manual box and manual engine, I believe there auto turbos. Wh ws n I first did it, it was quite obvious it wasnt naturally manual. Now its right....youd never know.

but 16 psi on a standard map can't be a great idea

Standard Map is around 10>11psi IE Stock boost ..

another above must have the correct Map chip

He said it was standard ECU/map and is 100% factory manual.

I've told him to walk away from it, which is a shame as he loves the grey colour.

Fully agree with you why would you have half a prop with some spares unless you need to change it for a manual conversion
