  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Ahhh, Mr phutumsch... That's a rather interesting looking box you have there! 400watt 2 channel amp by any chance?

Ha, I was just about to say that Andy had 41kg's of amps and audio sitting on his garage floor:biggrin:

Oh, to be on leave from work....

That'll be me tomorrow.. Its JAE time for me! Very pleased to hear that Joel is going aswell. Anyone else from here going??

Well day one of jae has been a long one.. After the preparations taking a while and only getting a few hours sleep, we arrived and got pitched up. A pot noodle, a few beers and chorizo sausages later, now settling down for some much needed Z's.. Hoping for a good day ahead..

Gnight folks

....And as Gaz says, don't forget to share a few pictures:thumbup:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Fitted my exhaust properly on the ramp, sorted the fuel leaK out, found the pas leak, (not fixed yet not available from nissan)

Drove it for the first time on a straight Road, hardly gave it 0.6bar and it shot off down the road, can't believe how fast it is, can't wait till have the steering working and finalising everything so I can let it carry on boosting, still grinning now, really hoping to fix the steering for the box hill run...

The WinFactory bonnet strut bracket flexes so i decided to put in a self tapper to hold the top down.

To a certain extent it does work but with the 'play' in the ball joints it will never eliminate the bouncing until it settles, wouldn't be without them though.

Also, with my impending respray coming up and having a spare set of headlights - today i completed a simple halo 89 conversion, all multi plugs done so plug and play in a few weeks time, a quick rig up to test is what you see below.

I certainly do not dislike my copy 99 spec headlights with the RGB coloured halos but i wanted a change.

I also put the halos on the dial first position switch as they should be and the front fogs (drl's) have now returned back to their pod switch, again as it should be.

Have you decided on what colour silver yet bud?

OK, I'm home from jae.. Have to say that I think I'm done with jae now.. Hardly any traders there and they were dotted around everywhere rather than all in one area. The show and shine was a joke.. After not bring accepted with my own car as they were full, I can't honestly believe how they put 75% of the cars in there, they were shocking! The only shiny thing on some of them was the mirrors!

The extreme stand I was on had nothing there except a small tent with seating for only half the attendees? The bbq we were expecting never happened and the weather turned absolutely terrible Friday right through to Saturday night! The final cherry on the cake was starting the car up this afternoon and finding it was running on 5 again. Injector failure..

Right now, Z life is becoming a serious drag..

Anyway, I was asked to report on this year's jae... My verdict is "abismal"

The one thing that saved the whole thing being a fail was an evening spent with our own Joel which was a good laugh, some good chat and a beer or two..

Thanks for your company Joel, really glad to see you when you arrived!

Unless our club are going to do jae in future, it'll be the last time I go there.

Patryk with the red z in the photo and rolandas were both there yes, but it was just 2 of our club and my mate that were there.. Apart from about 9 extreme bhp members but they were all very ore occupied with doing their thing.

I do have some photos and will post them when Ive managed to get drunk enough to not care about the engine trouble km facing yet again.. Damn car doing my melon in now

Please dont talk about it, you need to replace 1 injector, I need to put in a gearbox conversion after a new gearbox is just in it!

??? Yes but still, I've just paid out £4,000 on parts and repairs in two months Ali, I believe I have the right to be damn stressed out about it.. Particularly as driving home 120 miles with one cylinder dry and not firing may have just made the one injector a small problem Ali..

Seriously close to throwing the towel in right now

This doesn't surprise me one bit...

That what I expected to hear from jae unfortunately, even if my zed was ready didn't plan on going,

I know your pain as do most members on here, I don't want to know how much the new bits on my zed cost let alone the amount of time I've spent on it, and it's still not ready lol,

stick with it, I pulled my plenum 4 times last week because I couldn't get my 300 degree rail to seal properly, which injectors have you got?

On to bigger and better things next year, ( that's what I keep telling myself anyway)

Thanks for the update Paul on JAE. Sorry to read that you are having more problems with your Zed. If it is an injector failure

your cylinder will be OK as it will still have been oil lubricated as normal.

For me JAE ran its course many years ago - too many rice rockets and poor behaviour spoiled the show. British weather is

unpredictable at best but even blazing sunshine won't make a poor show a winner. JAE has become underwhelming and frankly

overpriced.

We have a great show here in the south at Simply Japanese at Beaulieu - an event I will make every effort to attend. Superb

location and facilities, good organisation by Beaulieu and our REO's, well presented cars from all the Japanese marques and

appreciative and polite crowds. All in all a lovely way to spend a day.

If we had other public shows that were in the same vein as SJ (other than our annual AGM Club get together currently at Coventry)

I would drive the length of the land to attend.

Project 1547 - Out of the Blue

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

I'll be honest with you all, the event itself doesn't necessarily have to be that great. For me it's all about the company and if that's good, then I'd be happy to set up tent in a swamp lol.

To be honest, the behaviour of others this year was pretty good but the company was just meh..

Simply jap was something I was looking forward to but the turbo problem I had just made it a no go.. Shame..

Anyway, I'm off out to try and cure the injector.. My injectors are stock phoenix, Lee Dent fitted a rail and six injectors that were all working fine and after the turbos were fitted she was running great, it just looks like either one has gone dead or a wiring problem has occurred again.

Anyway I'll know more later today.

I have a few red top injectors in my shed buy not sure what cc they are.

Thanks for the JAE report Paul and it looks like the members vote to drop JAE was the right move. I think most of us have outgrown the tent in a field in the rain with dirty overcrowded shower and toilet blocks and a lot of young teenagers running wild. JAE was great years ago when it was in the Summer season and we could rough it for a few days but the new venue and later dates plus the price hike that has killed it for us.

Hope you get your Z sorted soon mate.

Did anyone else get an email yesterday from the JAE organisers?

I did, and it basically said "the weather and turnout have been a bit crap this year, so why not come down on Sunday and just pay £15...?"

Had a bit of a chuckle as I deleted it.....

The weather was that bad on Friday night in to Saturday morning that I actually feared going to sleep! 8 man tent was going sideways and breaking carbon poles etc.. Ended up binning the tent before we left.

As for the car, I've changed the coil pack, checked the spark plug which was dry, checked injector wire and no problems there. Just one injector isn't clicking.. Has to be the injector.

The one thing that is confirming it is stuck closed is the fuel leak that started on the fuel rail. The jubilee weren't too tight but no leaks until the misfire started. Excess pressure in the rail due to the closed injector...

Going back to get it sorted as soon as possible.
