I took my seat leon into the main dealer today and was nothing but a huge mistake.

The car has now got a misfire so bad its almost undrivable and the garage refuse to aknowledge any fault.

Was suppose to have the coilpacks replaced of which they did'nt say they havent done as they are fine and 2 of them arn't genuine seat ones.

How can they of checked a coilpack when they claim they havent removed any of them from the car.

Soo peeved off as now ive gotta fix there problem.

Sometimes I think once a car gets over 5 years old, main dealer staff forget how to maintain them. I had to sell my starion after I took it to a Mitsubishi main dealer with a couple of minor faults. It came back with the wipers on continually. They claimed it came in like that at first, then said it was my bad luck they broke while it was there! Spare parts were really hard to come by. The parts lady at Nissan didn't know what my zed was and don't get me started on the traumas I had with ford with my y reg fiesta. I use good independents now.

I think once a car is outof its warranty they are only interested in ripping you off.

I got a "free" health care check while it was there and they offered to charge the battery up for me for £14.40. Its not even flat.

Main dealers are there to sell, service and supply parts for new cars within their warranty. We need to remember cars are only a product that a company produce. If its outside the exchange/refund timescales then there is no reason for them to care.

I wouldn't expect an Apple store to know how to fix a Mac from 2001, they would probably suggest binning it and buying another.

Or M&S being able to supply me new buttons for a coat I bought years ago.

Staff are trained on modern systems for modern cars and that's what they will deal with 99% of the time. I appreciate its frustrating, but I wouldn't have said they are useless.

Sounds like very bad service to me and I would let them know how badly you and your car was treated.

I let them know that under no circumstances would they ever touch my car again.

Only took it there in first place due to a product recall from seat themselves.

Have ordered a brand new coilpack wiring harness.

Wont ever be going near stoneacre again.

Hoping it will cure the problem.

Join a Seat forum/owners club and find a good local independent specialist. Should be plenty given there a VAG platform.

As above, I joined seatcupra.net plenty of good info on there and there may be someone on there that can recommend a good independent garage near you.

I would get it plugged into vagcom and see if any fault codes have been stored before spending any money on it. You can buy cables and basic versions of this on ebay and the port is located in the centre console under the fag tray.
