Quick clutch service last month also revealed these scarey nuts fitted on this zed rear wheel, there was barely three turns on each nut, goodness knows how they stayed on? (sorry pic blurry)

the driver must be Nuts not doing them up

may have a screw loose to drive with them like that!

The nuts were not loose, the wheel was really thick and there was only three turns of stud thread coming through the wheel.

Not good Jeff I would not feel safe driving that car!

I always thought that 8-10 turns were required, though I'm only getting 6 1/2 turns (using stock Nissan wheel nuts) with my current rims. Is that sufficient?

As long as there is at least 1 1/2 threads showing past a nut then they are in safety. They are obviously not and that man is very lucky.
