Car audio help

Hi guys

I am wanting to sort out the stereo system in my car. At the moment it has some rubbish Sony CD player that is eating most discs I put into it, so I want to get rid of it.

I am looking at doing a headless setup using an iPod or iPad. The car has got aftermarket Panasonic speakers fitted already which all work and I am happy with the sound quality from.

To do this setup I am thinking I need the following

- An iPod -> RCA cable with a 12v power line (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260741328797?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649)

- A volume control I can fit between the iPod and the speakers (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280924275045?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649)

- An small amp capable of driving 4 standard car speakers.

Does this look like it should work, or am I missing something here? I'm no expert on car audio so any advice would be good. The stuff I've linked there is just cheap ebay stuff so if anyone knows of better alternatives I would welcome the suggestions too!

Thanks for reading

John
