Take a look at the prices from a leaflet we had in today at the workshop, not saying the head units featured there are top spec stuff but some of them are not too bad just the prices are so low the manufacturer must make peanuts 0n each unit!

They are still cheaper from HK on ebay and there in, lies the problem. Whether the quality is there or not, most people tend to go for a bargain, some regret it in the long run maybe, but generally like food shopping now usually look for the cheapest.

China materials, china labour and i bet the mark up over this side is higher than the production costs too. The Blitz turbo timer ive just binned out my car was made in china and after looking at its core components must of cost £2-3 to make.

To be fair even the cheap units from HK are still pretty dam good. I had a flip out touch screen (think it was xtrons) and it was pretty jaw dropping how good it was and how many features it had.

Unfortunately, I only had it a couple of months until some thieving tw4t stole my saph and torched it.

But if you think about it, everything comes from the same factories, just with different badges on them.

My boss deals DJ equipment, and when he went over to China to have some speakers made up for his own brand, they basically just showed him some that are already made for another company (well known budget DJ brand) and said they will stick his custom badges on and then have them shipped over in his own branded boxes.
