ok, here's the gist....

last friday my top hose split, steam cleaning my engine with coolant for me...

i had a spare samco hose to put on, but when i took the old hose off, the plastic pipe on the end tank had broken

so, called nissan for some prices...

new rad 270 + vat

new end tank 40 + vat

so i called a local radiator guy and asked about replacing the end tank.

non starter, due to strong chance of breaking core.

he gave a price for patent part of 170 quid, but when i got there it was for z31, but listed at z32 :(

also spoke to MAC about his rad contact for making a new rad with new end tanks supplied by me, which was a good price and definite upgrade

unfortunately, the other side end tank is on back order from japan until 28/10 at least, but is available in the US.

so i nearly went for that (UK one sid eand US other), until the local rad guy suggested he might be able to get a full metal rad made instead, if i dropped my old one in to him.

well... success... he can sort this out..

brass end tanks and double row copper core, upgraded flow and better cooling too !! :D bonus

how much ? about 170 quid for cash, else + vat :D tbc after making first one

i am leaving my old rad with him, because he said once he has got the first one made and knows it is ok, he will make more if we can order at least 3 at a time

once i have mine, i will post some pics so you can all see, and i know some of you have radiator problems too.... ;)

he can also put the auto oil cooler inside if required, or leave it out if you have upgraded your own to an external

anyone interested in a group buy ?

have to wait and see when i get it :D

i dont think it will be quite as thick as the Koyo's, but definitely thicker than stock, as it will have two channels on each row, rather than one.
