Any IT techs thoughts on the scource code of a suspicious repeat email we receive each month warning of our excess broadband use, then suggesting we click a link to a section which will monitor it for you daily, the email is well presented with logos and all of the normal footer details but something seems odd, and the last line of the scource code is a loop back address which is odd for a BT email.

Cheers

Jeff

IP address 127.0.0.1 was ignored because it is a Loopback address

Doing an IP check all the above addresses fall within BT's network.

Although that just could mean that the servers generating the email if they are rough are hosted by BT.

Best thing to do is report the email to BT directly if you can or start using a spam blocker.

Where does the link it provides take you too ?

Can you forward the full email too lee.young@jaikai.co.uk and i will check it out.
