Anyone on here have a trackday/hillclimb type of car? e.g. Caterham, Dax , Fury, or Westfield, etc? Looking for information on building and/or buying one.

Featured Replies

Funny you should ask that. I was looking last night at an advert for a Caterham Fireblade. 0-60 around 3 seconds. Has a 900cc Fireblade engine, 6 speed sequential gearbox and weight around 430 kg.

Seriously tempted !

Try this one lads http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk.

If you didn't know a Locost is realy a copy of a Westfield.

You can buy the book "how to build a sportscar for £250 and race it) in Halfords.

Westfield wanted to take the Author to court but Haynes was to big a company to take on. Thats how the story goes anyway.

It is a good basis for the biuld, if you are doing it yorself.

I am biulding one at the moment with a 4age (MR2) engine. The bike engined cars a wicked track day cars but lack torque for road use realy.

My Uncle is building one (westfield)with a Hayabusa engine. 0-60 3.4.

It is virtualy the same as my Locost but 3 times the price.

They handle like a bloody Gokart.:D

Caterham, Westfield, Locost all Lotus 7 copies with better engines

Hope this helps

Rick

These cars are ace and may not be very practical but for blasting around on the track you can't beat them!

Value for money more than any other speed machine than a bike IMO.

Blade and Busa engined jobbies are maniac. ;)
