This is what we've got after an hour, and it doesn't even capture how thick & fast it's coming down now!

i do not understand this inherent hatred for snow? i love the stuff, and personally this country has become weak when faced with it, when i was growing up we had proper snow, a good 3 to 4 feet's worth (ok i was raised in Germany) but i never once see all this moaning about it, didn't see the gritters, they used snow plows (although with the amount of speed humps we have here, its no wonder we have to use gritters) and i still went school, even had to help clear the school drive way so the teachers could get in the car park.

Here we get a few flakes and everyone is ready to shut up shop, bunker down until it melts.

anyway, here is a very good inspirational image.

I don't hate snow. I hate the response to snow. It's winter ffs & it's been well forecast but you can guarantee it'll be all over the papers tomorrow about traffic chaos etc! I'm just sat at home waiting to go to Uni & I daren't set off yet because if they decide to close they'll close at 2pm by which time ill be on my way in! The only reason they close is due to so many staff & students having to get home a long way away across moors and stuff !

yes and driving the zed in it too lol

It's getting nice and white here too. Time to break out the Pulsar to keep me on the black stuff

Huh! It snowed in Crewe, where I am at the mo, last night, so today I ran out to try my new snow tyres on the mx5 but its all gone!!

I couldn’t agree more, it’s truly a sorry state of affairs when a few inched of snow brings a nation to its knees.

Admittedly the expense of having costly equipment sitting around for most of year doing nothing just in case there is snow might make a few people a little annoyed.

I did hear a news/weather reader advise people to invest in snow tyres (defiantly good advise) but also if money is tight can people afford it, again for how often it happens is it work it?

Infrequency also explains most peoples total inadequate understanding of how to drive in the conditions, contributing to the chaos.

And just to be clear I also certainly don’t hate snow…. But I can say I do hate the mess that comes from a relatively light dusting and just how inconvenient it is getting to and from work during that time.

Only recently (when my car was having major surgery) I contemplated scrapping it and getting a 4x4 just for the 3 months when snow is possible where I live and work.

We had a little flurry this morning which sent most people into a panic it didn't even settle ffs!

I'm not a lover of snow but i do enjoy making snow angels on the odd occasion lol

Lovely covering of snow here too. The ALPINA is no problem in these conditions

it stays on the drive the Mrs walks and I nick her Freelander:smartass:
