No biggy but just one of those other things that pisses me off about some ebay sellers and their funny ways

You opt for the 'Buy it Now' option, pay the money and wait for the item to turn up.......two weeks later still no sign, so you start the whole 'Contact the Seller' process and send a polite enquiry along the lines of "Hi mate, could you confirm please that this item has been sent?"

then low and behold the following day you receieve the reply "Yes this has been sent but Royal Mail are saying that there are delays because of the Christmas post, it will be with you shortly"

Now my point is firstly, why not just come clean and say "My appologies, this one has been overlooked" rather than lie about it

There is no increase in Christmas post just now that is reported by Royal Mail to be causing delays, and granted there is lilkely to be an increase (funny old thing as Christmas comes around the same time every year) but certainly not 2 weeks delay from November

There have been delays due to weather and I can fully appreciate that and that would be a perfectly reasonable excuse but the fact that the seller feels safe to reassure that 'it will be with you shortly' tells me that his/her increase in Royal Mail confidence stems from the fact that he knows (1) that the item that he/she has forgotten about will be posted today and (2) that as there is no Royal Mail Christmas post backlog just yet, that the item is likely to arrive at its destination in the next few days

anyway, I just thought I'd share that with you

and now Mr Grumpy needs to go and get himself a brew and stop writing up shite whinging ebay type threads
