just wondered if the H shaped Cats section on TT's is a universal size regardless of make? as need to replace the cat.

another question is: if I want to de-cat.. will it be just a simple replacement for the mid-section?

Featured Replies

The mid section isn't the cats, the cats are on the end of the two longish down pipes from the turbo elbows, so its turbo elbows -> Cat pipes -> H or X section -> Back boxes. Most de-cats are the pipes from the turbo elbows and go up to the H or X section, just pipes that eliminate the cats, you can get some with silencers in too, have a look on ebay, damn sight cheaper than new cats! But if you are going for second hand cats, I believe they are the same (apart from LWB and SWB of course), but UK cars have a different cat pipe due to a pre-cat in the turbo elbow, JDM cars do not.

in that case my JDM is a de-cat. and I am just after a H-or-X section... as it had been knocked with debris on the motorway. will Xor H have the same lengths and distances between connective ends?

the reason I wondered if that was the cat is, there is a box in the H section. and then there is the twin exit back boxes.

I have a 'spare' exhaust sitting in my hut, you can have whatever section you want if you want to cover the postage costs as a gift via paypal.

Check the photos to see condition - all looked good to me but no guarentees given or implied, only removed to replace with full Japspeed system.

Mods - this is not a for sale post, its a freebie bar postage :thumbup1: I've given away quite a few bits for free on here in the past and sometimes had threads locked because folk thought I was after money...I aint, I kept parts in case anybody on here needed them (to repay for the advice I've picked up as a regi user) rather than scrapping them for pennies.

I don't know what parts of the system were standard, back boxes certainly weren't (they are away now but rest is still in hut).

This is the cats (sitting the opposite sides from how they should)

then these two sections before the backboxes

If either of these will sort your problem then they're yours.
