I'm not bringing up the auto vs. manual thing again guys.

But if you want to witness a real corker of an argument then you should see a load of RX-7 owners in a concentrated space thrashing out the capacity of the wankel rotary units they have fitted!!! ROFL biggrin.gif

Some people say that the 3rd gen. has two 1.3 litre units and two turbos therefore it must be a 2.6! wink.gif

Then there is the argument that there are NOT 2 x rotary units but only one with an overall capacity of around 643cc which then multiplied with some fan dangled phsyics formula of times by 1.8 or summat they somehow come up with something else.

Just reading some of the reviews on carsurvey.org are a classic, make our arguments look tame in comparison. Rip roaring reading... biggrin.gif

See for yerselves...LOL

...and more of the same, class!

What you really want is a Six Rotor Wankle engine - very good way of delivering maximum power while reducing stress on internal components. Good for about 900 BHP also If you see one of them on the street you will get you ass handed to you bigstyle.

Watch this space for more details soon on a big HP rotary engine ( not that big tho !)

Z ya

.... And no im not selling me Z....

Only trouble with rotaries are that (AFAIK) there are even less people around who know how to really look after them than there are who know about the Zed!

And that's going some..

Theoretically, a fantastic piece of technology.. One moving part.. Lovely smile.gif

Very clever concept but the combustion chamber shape is very inefficient. Had a long discussion with a mate of mine a while back regarding the theoretical capacity vs actual capacity of the Norton rotarys and I think we finally came to the conclusion that it was like a twin cylinder single stroke motor. Makes deciding which class it fits into a real bugger, because there is nothing else like it !

Basically like SE but for Mazdas...

What makes me laugh is they put these nutter engines on drag bikes...good effort!!! wink.gif

well they are lying if they say only 6 rotor engine,

the premier series for racing in south africa has had a 6 rotor mazda for about 6 years now. that thing is awsome to say the least.

plus mazda won the lemans so it cant be that ineficient. wink.gif

and timmy SE FOR ROTERYS ? what does that mean?

everythign they touch iether breaks or cost £10k or both biggrin.gif
