Far from the best pictures but all I could do in a garage in the rain and dark!

Good luck with your new toy mate......

....and there's nothing wrong with German machinery for a decent daily driver. Tough, reliable and (well, some of their machinery is) very fast too. Whilst my love of Japanese cars is centred on the 300zx, it does not extend to very much else from Japan nowadays TBH; The Supra stopped at the Mk3 for me; I would not buy a Skyline and, R35 GTR aside, modern Japanese cars are just dull "appliances." And I'll not even mention offerings from S****u or M********i.... So I'd certainly not call a BMW M5 a Eurobox....

300zx and NSX aside, I'd have anything AMG/BMW M/Audi RS powered, over ALL modern offerings from the Far East without question..... Just my opinion though - we are all entitled to that...:clover:

Whenever I replace my daily driver I ring the insurance co up to transfer my policy to the new car, and each time they have offered me between 7-14 days grace period on the old car to give me time to sell it and include any premium difference in my monthly instalments. Thats with various different insurers.

Cheers mate, going to call tonight and see what sort of deal I can hash out with them!

Nice choice mate:thumbup1: , great cars , and funny enough was looking at getting another one in the spring , though i have a problem , i am also hooked on the 645iL and the 650iL , or the 760iL to replace my 740i , though if the right Z came up i would go to 10k but it would have to be bloody awsome , like BazzaJG had , but that was too soon for me. Enjoy it mate , very reliable if maintained properly.

Tony

645i (no LWB version of 6 series ;) ) and 650i's are fantastic cars just pretty much all automatic and perhaps a touch grown up for me just as yet. This M5 has had alot of money spent on it over the years, all the usual suspects have been replaced in the last 3 years or so which should make it fairly good for the limited milage I do. I have been reading through the history today and its certainly comprehensive! I would stay away from a LWB 7 series if I were you. Certainly no benefit to the driver only a rear seat passenger. The extra 6 inches makes them even more awkward to park. The E65 does seem huge over the E38, my dad hs a 745i that he has had from almost new and its been very very good with regards to reliability. Much lighter on brakes and tyres and considerably better on fuel than his old e38 740i

Cheers will check it out.

Nice! I wanted one of these instead when I bought my Zed but the insurance was insane! Hopefully be able to get into one in a year or so. My old housemate had one and it was just awesome, so comfy and refined compared to the zed...

Really nice mate and don't listen to the nay sayers, that motors got some really fine genuine racing pedigree

and just to add, in January.....can I have the engine after you've put it arse end into a ditch

Not a chance ;) This ones got traction control and brand new tyres! That makes it uncrashable! TBF if I do bin it, it'll be getting transplanted into a touring shell to make the 3rd M5 touring in the world....! (BMW built one, a chap in canada did one....!) The engine is fantastic, however i've only driven it twice but the throttle response is just first class.

I've grown up with BMW's so the way its done is second nature. I look at the way Japanese stuff is generally built and I think hmm. Not to say German cars are without problems, my mums E39 touring is being a total PITA at the moment. However its had no love over the last 6 years suffering at the constant abuse of my mother so you cant blame the old girl (the car I mean!)

and ile tip my hat to all the above Richard too..

+1!
