The wife has just arrived home to tell me she has just been stopped doing 52mph in a 30mph limit. The officer was on a motorcycle and had given her a stern talking to that had brought her to tears.

The next comment was that she must not do this again and if he had not reached his "Quota" already this week then she would have been in serious trouble.

Is it that she's a woman or do the police have a quota of say 10 speeders a day, or 20 offences a week to catch ???????

If it was me I'm sure it would be crush the car and lock him away for the year, 52mph in a 30mph area, she is a disgrace :glare::glare::glare:

I've no idea mate, but don't like the idea of quotas for the Police. Shocking really on both counts

Yes i agree they do have to reach certain targets to ensure that they are busy to justify there jobs etc... blah... Surprised still at just a telling off though

a mate of mine is a plod . according to him there are kind of targets to hit but more of a average between officers . what he has told me though which made me laugh was the best and worst time to play up . the evening shift change is 10 oclock . in these times of cut backs and lack of available overtime officers like to give out warnings after 9pm rather than arrest so they dont get stuck in the station when they should be going home . on the other hand if you play up about 10.30/11.00 ish expect to get nicked for the same thing as they want to get back to the station in the warm
