Replacing coolant..

Ok, i spent a while replacing my timing belt and in the process the radiator + everythin was drained. Was about to fill it back up and err... no expansion Bottle?

Where do i pour the coolant and to what level?

Via tha rad cap mate wink.gif and when its full fill the expansion tank,It is the yellow cap on the N/S near the headlamp.

Thats basically what i originally did but i was gettin plenty of steam and over heating.

 

Just did it again running the engine every now and again to suck it all up, seems finenow.

Managed to fit about 3ltrs more than before... ??!!

Rob - the cooling system capacity is around 10ltr from memory (from the docs), it's huge..

 

You are also supposed to set the climate control to full heat, then wait 15 seconds before switching off the ignition and filling the car - I think that's it, I can check if you like, failing that, make sure you run the car for a while with the heater on to try and clear any airlocks out of there..
