hi ive noticed that the middle of the CAS is not turning any more and ive noticed a rattle at the back of the engine every now and again is this something to do with a spring being broken (wich i read on a post not long ago but cant seem to find it)if so where about is it located and whats the cost of the parts etc the car runs and ticks over fine any help would be gratefull Alan

Ok, the centre of the cas never turns - I presume you are talking about looking at it from the front of the car? If it used to turn, I'd be worried

 

The clicking at the back of the engine COULD be a spring yes! It is the spring in the intake cam for the variable cam timing. If you are replacing this then do the cambelt at the same time
