Hello .

Now I am lucky enough to need to take my sump pan off for a bit of the old welding treatment/patchwork.

Question is ( I have looked in horror underneath the car on little ramps) can the sump be removed or is this an engine out job?

..and I will not be taking the engine out.. I will be ringing the scrap merchant.

fingers crossed I can avoid that.

you need to support the engine from the top ..

unbolt the engine mounts from sub fame

then you can undo the sub frame and pull it down 6" there abouts this will give you

the room to take it off
