MY ZED WAS HAD FIRE DAMAGE I HAVE CHANGED ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING INCL WIRING LOOM ON THE CAR BUT IT DONT START........I HAVENT CHECKED THE ECU MAYBE THATS MESSED UP OR COULD IT BE MY ALARM/IMMOBILISER........

 

I THINK IT MAY JUST BE MY MECHANIS BEING LAZY COS WHEN EVER I GO TO HIM HE SAYS EVERYTHING IS CHANGED AND SHOULD START IN A DAY OR TWO........

 

ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS ON HOW I MAY GET IT STARTED OR ANY CHECKS I COULD DO COS I AINT GOT A CLUE AND MY MECHANIC KNOWS THAT AND I THINK HES TAKIN THE P***S COS I KNOW HE IS GOOD....... HES WORKED ON PLENTY OF ZEDS.... MAINLY BODYWORK THOUGH

Firstly kill the Caps Lock bud!

 

When you say it won't start is it turning over?

 

Somebody else had this problem recently, try towing it for a short distance and then try again.

 

Sounds daft but trust me.

My car is in Maldon near SE and NO it doesn't turn over no lights come on ......nothing at all its just dead.

is the battery full or charged?

is the connection there properly connected?

is it not an immobeliser playing up or an alarm?

alternator connected?

 

Is it an auto?

Is it in Park/Neutral? Move it through the gears to make sure the switch has engaged correctly.

Check the above inhibitor circuit.

Had this on mine and nothing happens AT ALL if it thinks you are not in park/neutral.

It is not the auto inhibitor circuit as you have no lights at all.

Few things to check. Make sure all the earth points from the negative terminal are secure and in the correct places. Also, check the main fuse for the car. It is located on the drivers inside wing behind the suspension turret. There are about 6 fuses in there - you want the main bat +ve one.

Have you checked the wiring which isn't part of the wiring loom? i.e. on the engine itself, also do you have a spark at the plugs -this will determine whether or not the crank angle sensor's pulses are being outputted to the coils. If not then check the wiring to the sensor and that the ECU is powering up when the ignition is on (requires cct diagram).
