Whats the easiest way of getting the old seal out please?

 

Couple of self tappers or take out the housing holding it in place?

assuming your talking about the rear one .. unbolt and tap it out ..

 

front oil pump one will need a seal puller or some thing to tap and twist it out .. but be warned dont damage the outer face the seal its on

Just found this while looking to solve my problem.

 

I just replaced the sump but forgot to remove the plate above that holds the rear main oil seal in place to change the seal. It looks like if I do it now I will disturb the fresh rubber I just put in. Am I right and what would you recommend doing?

Anyone?

you can replace the oil Seal without removing the holder m8 ...

 

just dont damage the face of where the oil seal meets
