Just out of interest more than anything (because the ABS is going anyway) I'm trying to figure what is up with the ABS system on my SWB. Ever since swapping the stock rears for 6 pots the pedal feel is really soft, in fact the brakes near as damn it don't work.

Now the brakes have been bled thoroughly (twice) and all is fitted correctly (new copper washers and banjo bolts etc) but there seems to be something up with the ABS unit behind the drivers seat. When the engine is ticking over and the brake pedal is pressed, the revs drop ever so slightly by a few hundred RPM. The brake pedal is really soft and there seems to be a quiet hiss sound coming from the ABS unit behind the drivers seat?

Maybe there is a leak from the ABS unit itself (it all worked beforehand and hasn't been touched during the rear brake swap) but it seems strange that the revs drop aswell, as I've never noticed that before.

Since I now have an NA BMS ready to go in and I want to really simplify the overall brake system, it makes sense that I replace the stock ABS with a non ABS system. I'm just curious if anybody else has experienced similar issues with their ABS...

That's another thing, on the SWB ABS unit there doesn't seem to be an obvious bleed point. The ABS units are completely different to the unit from the LWB and there's nothing online that I can see that shows where one might be.

I would say air in the system for sure, causing the soft brake pedal.

Then if revs are dropping sounds like an air leak around the brake booster

Do you know where the bleed point is on the SWB ABS unit mate? and I'm assuming that a seal or something may have gone on the brake booster, so would that be a relatively simple fix?

No idea, mine went in the bin several years ago

that's the plan mate but for the immediate future, I want to get the brakes working so that I can drive it to whoever is going to be working on it over the next few weeks sorting out all of the niggly jobs that I've been meaning to sort but never got around to
