Power Steering Belt

Alt/Water pump belt decided to depart company from my car !

decided to replace the belt myself.

loosed the AC belt ok via undoing the idler pully adjuster bolts.

Loosed the Alt motor ok via its adjuster bolts ok

Went to loosen the PS Pump via its Adjuster bolt, did this but the pump refuses to budge! is there another bolt I have to loosen so I can take the PS belt off? and where is it? I got the car jacked up so I'm working from underneath the car.

Duffman u must know, I've been looking at the online manual, and can only find the tension adjuster bolt.

Marc- have you loosened the pivot bolt on the PS pump?

You get to it by rotating the pulley wheel until you can see the pivot bolt through one of the holes (actually it's pretty hard to see really). From memory it's 14mm (the Alt pivot bolt is 17mm I think, which you should also loosen), and it's the only one you can get a socket onto - don't do what I did and spend ages trying to get a socket onto the wrong bolt (ahem).

The tech article on TTnet for the cambelt has a good description of what I'm babbling about btw.

Oh, and you get to it from above, not below (and then to the adjuster from below).

HTH.

Corr no mention of it on the Online Manual. Tch! lol

Yeah Gayzed is right LOL - I think from looking at the front of the PS pump it is at about 10 o'clock if that makes sense???
