Noisy Tyres

Just thought I'd share a little info regarding the Avon tyres I had fitted to the front of my Zed. These were 235/45 ZR17s and made a terrible drone above 45 mph. It sounded to me like the wheel bearing were rumbling and when I was advised to change the tyres, I was suspisious to say the least. The problem was, there was still plenty of life left in the Avons. However, I replaced them this morning with a couple of Toyo Proxy's and, hey presto, the horrible noise has gone!

Don't think I'll be buying Avon's again, despite their good grip qualities.

I had the same problem with Avons when they got worn,...only trouble is I had a front wheel bearing changed....when it was the tyres.....

Had my tyres (Toyos) swapped left to right as directional so as to even up the inner edge wearing. £10 for tyre swap and rebalance and will extend life of tyre 000 miles.
