Spending 3weeks driving across America. Starting in Chicago and ending in San Francisco. Following Route 66 most of the way but going up into Colorado and then to Vegas for 4 nights as well. We've hired a Ford Explorer 4x4 (as long as they're in stock at the airport). Will put up a few pictures along the way.

Also, ordered a few small things from concept z which are getting sent to family in San Fran. Had to stop myself from ordering too much.

This will be the third time we've done it, can't wait! Hope to see a few Zeds along the way.

Wife and I looked into doing this a couple of years ago, you lucky chappy, where you stopping in Vegas?

 

I did that once ordered stuff and got them sent to my hotel, The Palace Hotel in San Fran.

We're staying in Treasure Island. Stayed at the MGM last time but this time it's gone really expensive. Got a good deal on a strip view room. Great idea gettin stuff sent to your hotel, didn't think you could do that.

In the USA folk bend over backwards to look after you, nothing is too much trouble.

 

We stopped at the MGM signature a few years back, remember it very very fondly, great holiday, only ever had a good value for money buffet in TI :cool3:

The first time we went we had to stay in a camp site next to circus circus in r motorhome in summer! Far too hot. It's a place you have to visit though.

I tried going to Vegas for a few days once ended up staying for 6 weeks!!!! A good trick was going mid week and you will find the hotels area bargin compared to the weekend prices

We found the hotels cheaper so we've worked the route out to arrive in vegas on a Monday and leave Friday morning. Will check out that place. Will be in Springfield on Friday I think. Looking forward to the Cadillac ranch, check the link.
