Samsung S3 - driving me mad!!!!!!! any techies help?

Ok got an upgrade last week from my HTC to an S3.

Everything working fine until I go to check on my email accounts that I set (1 BT internet, & the other through 1 and 1 Internet)

The emails that had been downloaded to my phone had mysteriously vanished!

Now I hadn't deleted them and the missing emails are all showing on my PC/webmail. I haven't deleted any mails from the servers.

Vodafone, didn't have a clue and after talking to tech support, who had basically no idea and was saying he had an S2 andd would look at the email account setting to see if that would help. Really Vodafone don't have a clue, and say it's the Samsung software, hmmmn BSh!t. :2guns:

Anyway after suggesting that my 3G wasn't working on the phone (don't think has anything to do with my emails vanishing btw) they sent out a replacement phone.

Replacement phone didn't turn up on the day it was supposed :hammer:

Today got new phone setup everything again, set up the email accouts...... and at first, picked up 2/3days of emails on the phone, 2 hours later all the emails from bothe accounts have gone again. ffs!

Sat here now listening to customer service crappy music in a 10/15 mins queue, ready to let rip!!:2guns::2guns:

any thoughts.... apart from leaving Vodafone and gettign a different handset?

I have an S2 and a similar thing happens to me. Never been able to figure out how to get them back.

It seems like there is some kind of setting on the phone that automatically hides any emails that are over 2 weeks old or something, even though they are still in your actual inbox when on your computer...

Not had it when they disappear pretty much straight away though. Have you tried Samsung forums online or googling the issue? Often lots of helpful guys online

dont get this problem with iphone lol

sorry couldnt resist, anyway is there a email settings, might be something in there, never used email on my phone, get annoyed with it keep beeping at me and the number on the icon to say ive got mail. does me nut in lol

I got Samsung s3, got it the day iphone 5 come out, went in the shop 3 guys working there had s3 and they said they ain't even blinked at iphone 5,

Had iphone already and loved it went in shop they had Demo iphone5 which they were passing around and wasn't impressed not much changed from old phone.

Looked at s3 and gets my vote everytime.

Mate at work, brother in law both had iphones and there changing to s3,

Ain't had any problems with emails and can't help there but what do u think of phone do u like it. Everyone moans it's big but I like it got netflix on it and watch movies at work and wouldn't want it smaller screen is great big and clear.

Have u tried s3 Ian u may get a shock lol, free to download music, send them to friends etc apple want money for everything.

Maybe u can change what it does with emails etc

That's the only thing I noticed with s3 seems to have so much on it I don't know how to work it all yet.

Iphones were easier to use.

Goodluck hope u fix it.

Well after a frustrating 30mins on the phone to tech support. It truns out that the 3G part of the SIM isn't working properly. SO ever time I connect to a WI-FI network I get my emails, as soon as I'm out of range they disappear from the Inbox. Aswell as creating a new APN (whatever that is) on the phone and many reboots with/without battery & SIM I await my new SIM to see if they have indeed located the fault.

Nearly went for an Iphone but because of the crappy Bluetooth on the Apple phones (from the Iphone 4 onwards) they do not sync to many cars OEM and Premium head units. That was a deal breaker as both my wife and I need a phone that works seemlessly with the cars headunit.

My son pre ordered an Iphone 5 through my Vodafone account for delivery on the release date. Five days after the release date still no phone and Head office and my local store kept giving us every excuse as to why it hadn't arrived. They promised that when pre ordered, the phone would be there on the day of release. After leaving 4 messages with my store chasing info, I gave up and we ordered 1 through T/mobile/Orange. That same day we received a txt from Voda saying it was in branch to collect, had they pleasure of telling them that we had bought 1 elsewhere and they should improve on their comms to customers and listen to the v/mails customer leave for them.

Thank God it's only every 2 years I upgrade!

Just looked on Google and someone said put emails and texts to 999 before auto delete.

One thing I did notice is I took some pics and went to delete and couldn't they went to Google plus or something and had to delete them there maybe it's putting your emails there.

Not to good with that side of phones or computers but seems great phone for watching movies, music etc.

well i had a scout around the web, and seems a common thing with the emails and the galaxys its been like it since the S1.

On an Android phone, If you open the mail, goto folders and view all mail you should see it

Sometimes it it makes them 'old' and that's the way to recover them on the phone

Looked at all folders, nothing hidding. Everything worked fine with my previous HTC. Seems like a visit to my local store is in order.
